No one wants to have an extraction, and at Jones Lake Dental, we do our best to save your natural teeth because we know that it’s the best way to support your dental health. Occasionally, we must remove a tooth because it is severely decayed or infected, or because of overcrowding. When possible, we remove those teeth in our Moncton dental office without the need for a referral.
Extremely Gentle and Compassionate Care
Dr. Matt Bradshaw is highly skilled at dental extractions. He is gentle and compassionate when it comes to performing this sensitive procedure. He knows that having an extraction can be a difficult experience that requires empathy and compassion. He strives to make it as easy as possible for all of his patients.
Not only will he remove your tooth, but he will also guide you through the healing process, give clear aftercare instructions, and help with pain management, if necessary.
If you have anxiety about your extraction, we offer sedation dentistry to help you relax. We offer both nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation in order to help you feel more comfortable for your procedure. Nitrous oxide is a mild sedative that can produce euphoric effects. Oral sedation is a stronger treatment that will completely relax you and make you feel sleepy.
Tooth Replacement Options
Dr. Bradshaw starts by planning ahead, whenever possible. If you know you need an extraction, he will discuss all of your tooth replacement options with you prior to your extraction so that we can have a plan before removing your tooth. From bridges to dental implants, we offer a wide variety of tooth replacement options for every lifestyle. Each treatment has its benefits, and Dr. Bradshaw will go over each option in detail so you can make an educated decision.
For most tooth replacement procedures, Dr. Bradshaw performs treatment in our office, making your experience convenient.
When a Referral Becomes Necessary
We can perform most dental extractions right in our office, as well, unless it is an extremely complex procedure where an oral surgeon may make more sense. If we ever need to refer you for treatment to another office, we will send you to someone we trust where you will receive the same great care you would get here at our office. We will maintain contact with your oral surgeon so that we can provide seamless care.
